Digitalisation succeeds in the Coesfeld district thanks to excellent infrastructure

For many years, wfc Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Coesfeld GmbH has been intensively supporting the continuous expansion with the latest technologies. And that pays off!
The district of Coesfeld is the leader in fibre broadband coverage in North Rhine-Westphalia with 85% of addresses covered. Following the completion of current expansion projects, the rate is even 95 per cent. With its early focus on fibre broadband, strong partnerships and the great commitment of its citizens, the district of Coesfeld has steadily achieved this top position. And that’s not all.
The district of Coesfeld is also one of the best-supplied districts in Germany when it comes to mobile communications. As good as the coverage is in comparison, there are still gaps. This is another area in which wfc is active: in co-operation with the district of Coesfeld, the STF Group and REMONIDS GmbH, a procedure has been developed for measuring mobile phone coverage using waste collection vehicles, which has been copied throughout Germany as the “Coesfeld model”.
